II. BASIC TERMS

Atom: is the smallest fundamental particle of an element that can exist and take part in a chemical reaction.

 

Molecule: this is the smallest unit of an element or a compound that can exist under normal condition.

Compound: these are two or more element that are chemically combined.

Element: this is a pure substance that cannot be divided into any purer or simplier substance by chemical.
