             Parts of a road

1. Carriage way: this is the middle part of the road mostly used by cars, heavy vehicles and motor cycles.
2. Sideway: it is a land surface on both sides of a road mostly used by pedestrians
3. Road junction: it is a place where roads from different towns meet. It is used by cars, heavy vehicles and motor cycles
4. Ditch: these are gutters where run off flows
