Words in English, like in any other language, perform different functions.
Some words are simply names. They name either people, places, things or ideas. E. g. Asong, Julius, Asaba, Burne, Mpey, principal, master staff, librarian, secretary, bursar. cooks, etc.
Deido and Bepanda are names of the places where two colleges are found.
Books, trousers and shoes are some of the things one would find at any Secondary School.
All the words we have listed above are naming words. Any word that names a person or animal, a place or a thing or an idea is called a noun.
