CHAPTER II: DETERMINATION OF STRUCTURE FORMULA

Introduction

-This gives information of how the atoms are arranged.

Different spectroscopy reviews their corresponding results on the structure and mass of the mass of the compound.

1-Mass spectroscopy: It gives information on the RMM of the compound.

2-Ultra violet spectroscopy: It determines the number and presence of double bonds

3-Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMA): It gives information on the arrangement of hydrogen atoms and functional groups.

4-X-ray spectroscopy: It gives information on the different atoms and bond angles.
