A- Verb Tense

Change the following direct speech sentences to indirect speech sentences.

  1. The student said “we are going to school “.® The student said that they were going to school.
  2. The boy said, “I danced very well”.® The boy said he had danced very well.
  3. The student said, “We have finished the assignment”.® They students said they had finished the assignment.
  4. “I will be there tomorrow”, the chairman said.® The chairman said he would be there the next day.
  5. When we change from direct to indirect speech, the verb tense changes.
