  • My mother gave me a big apple.                                 (Adjectives)
  • This apple is bigger than the other one.               (Comparative)
  • Apple A is the biggest among the three apples.  (Superlative)

 

  • This is the biggest apple of all in the market.
  • Among these apples, I have the smaller one.
  • I have a big apple.

NB: The comparative form compares two things while the superlative form compares three or more things.

One syllable adjective ends with “er” in the comparative and “est” in the superlative

Polysyllabic words begin with “more” in the comparative and with “most” in the superlative.
