Logic FROM 3

Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION TO LOGIC

SOUND AND UNSOUND ARGUMENTS

An argument is said to be sound when it is valid with all its premises or propositions true.

Example:      “All humans are mortals”

“All teachers are human”

Therefore, all teachers are mortals.

On the other hand, an argument is said to be unsound when it is either invalid or valid with false premises or has at least one false premise.
