CHAPTER 5 : POETRY

Introduction

It is a form of literature that uses an esthaetics and rhythmic qualities of language, such as sound to evoque a meaning depend on the thing brought out.

        Poetry is generally difficult to interprete if not mastered devices such as assonance, alliteration, onomatopoeia are used to give a meaning to a poem.

         Some poetry types are specific in a particular culture and genre. E.g.: The poem written by Cameroonian poet

                                    “Ma mamy Eh”

                                     “Njama Njama”

                                      “Dans la sauce”

 

How to analyse a Poem

      Analysing poems could be very complecated because to decode what some others have written can be done at the first, we must used a particular methodology in dect detecting poem. The following ten points will help to achieve these:
