FUNCTIONS OF THE VARIOUS PARTS OF MICROSCOPE
  1. Stand or base; it supports the microscope
  2. Arm or limb; used to carry the microscope
  3. Mirror; used to reflect light into the microscope so as to see clearly
  4. Diaphragm; regulates the amount of light entering the microscope.
  5. Nose piece; contains the high and low power objective. It is rotated to increase or reduce the size of the organism seen.
  6. Stage; it is where organisms are to be observed
  7. Stage clip; they hold organisms in place on the stage
  8. Objective lenses; they magnified the organisms been viewed.
  9. Tube; passage way for light to reach the eye
  10. Eye piece; contains eye lenses
  11. Coarse adjustment; moves stage up and down for focusing
  12. Fine adjustment; move the stage slightly to sharpen image
