Chapter 4; The Cell

Cell structure
  • Cells are so tiny that they can only be seen with the aid of a microscope.
  • All cells contain a round or oval object called a nucleus, surrounded by a jelly-like substance called cytoplasm, both of which are enclosed within a very thin skin known as the cell membrane.
  • The whole content of the cell is called the protoplasm I. e. Nucleus + cytoplasm = protoplasm.
