- After the signing of the Germano-Douala treaty, the Germans quickly expanded into the interior and signed treaties.
- Dr. Eugene Zintgraff visited the grassland. His journey started in 1888 in Douala to Barombbi and established the first station. From there he travelled to several places. In Bali January 1889 he had a brief stay with the Fon Galega I. After Bali, he left to Mankon, Bafut, Kom etc. He used soldiers gained from the Germano-Bali treaty (blood pact) to conquer these tribes.
- Lt Kund and Lt Tappenbeck. They explore the region from lower Sanaga river to Yaounde.
- Curt Morgan and Vonstetten. Their expedition started from Yaounde to Adamawa.
- Major Hans Dominick led the expedition in the North against the Fulbé and conquered them.

- Peaceful and Diplomatic Meth
It involved the peaceful negociation and signing of treaties with tradition rulers.
- Administrative Method
This involved collaboration with traditional rulers of the interior who later accepted to hand over their territories to Germans.
- Millitary Conquest
The Germans used punitive method against those tribes that were recalcitrantor refused to accept German rule.
- Exploraty Method
This involved the exploration of the interior by German explorers and signing treaties with chiefs of the interior.
- Sale Contract
By this method, the traditional rulers gave part of their land to the Germans in exchange to money or gifts.
