2) CACHE

           Another type of memory that emerges is Cache Memory. It carries out a similar function to that of RAM. Cache memory resides on the processor or very close to the processor on the mother board. This makes it faster than typical RAM and is able to retrieve from RAM or the hard drive, in advance, those instructions that are likely to be needed by the processor.
