Chapter 7: TYPES OF STORAGE DEVICES

B) Semiconductor storage

Semi conductor storage uses semiconductor-based integrated circuits to store data. The volatile and nonvolatile forms of the semiconductor memory may contain millions of tiny transistors or capacitors. In modern computers, primary storage consists mainly of dynamic volatile semiconductor memory or simply dynamic random access memory. Non-volatile semiconductor storage is also known as FLASH DRIVES.
