Chapter 1: Our planet earth in the universe
Characteristics of longitude- All longitudes meet at poles.
- They show the location of places that is West and East meridian
- They are measured in degrees from 0o- 180o east and west of the prime meridian.
- Two important longitudes are;
- Longitude 0o on which the GMT (Greenwich mean time) is located
- Longitude 180o which is the International Date Line (IDL). All longitudes are great circles.
- Latitudes: these are imaginary lines that run from west to east.
