Relief is the physical shape of the earth surface. Different types of relief are;
- Mountains:
These are large isolated and evoluted landforms rising more than 600m above the sea.
Types of mountains include: volcanic mountain, fold mountain, block mountains (examples of mountains include: mount fako, mount Kilimanjaro, mount kupe etc.)
- Plateau:
It is an elevated upland with an almost flat surface.
Types of plateaux: Dissected plateau, lava plateau (examples of plateau are the Adamawa plateau, Jos plateau, and the Decan plateau)
- Plains:
It is an extensive low lying area. It can be level (flat) or undulating (rough).
Types of plains: structural plain, erosional plain, depositional plane (examples of plains include the Mbaw, Ndop, and Dia mare plain in Cameroon).
