Mosquitoes undergo complete metamorphosis, which includes the egg, larva, pupa and adult.
After mating, about 200 eggs are layed on the surface of stagnant water. After 1 to 2 days, the eggs hatch into larvae.
The larva then moults about 3 to 4 times and develops into a pupa enclosed in a pupal skin. Within 1 to 2 days. the pupal skin splits and the adult mosquito crawls out
The adult then waits for the wings to dry and expand before it flies away. The adult live for about 2 to 3 weeks, mates, lays eggs and then dies
