The Anglo-French Policy of Appeacement

Appeasement means making some one who is angry to be Happy by giving him what he want.

It was a policy adopted by the Britain and France towards trouble matters in Europe to prevent future wars caused by Agrecers

It was quckly use by Britain prime minister Neville Chambertain.

Britain considered that Germany had not fairly treated in the treaty of Versailles 1919, refusing to appease Germany hilter invented polar. Britain and France declared war on Germany and the second WW began in Europe.

Reasons for the western Policy of Appeasement

Britain considered that Germany was not fairly treated at the paris peace settlement 1919 to 1920.

  • The Britain economy was sure for their great depression and couldn’nt support suffering from domestic PB and war sometime.
  • Britain saw that appeasement will give them time to prepare.
  • Many British saw  that the appeasement will bring peace in Europe.
  • The treaty was critised by the Germans for its territorial were reperation and military impact on Germans  were planning to.
  • France couldn’t face Germany alone in the War it could only relied on Britain. When Britain choose the policy of appeacement France accepted.
  • The policy was adopted to fight Russsia communism in southern east Asia by these they allowed Japan to occupied territoires in China in the 1930
  • The USA encouraged appeasement because she sympathise with the Germans they gave financial aid to the German in the dawes plan of 1924 and the Young plan in 1929.
  • Germany gave the impression that she was out to right wrongs of the Versailles treaty.
