A statement form proposition has four terms / Parts.
Example of a logical proposition
- Quantifier: it tells us how much or how many of a class are found in another. It is denoted by All, No, or Some as initials.
- Subjet term: it is that which we are talking about or that which a statement is made. A class designated S which immediately follows the quantifiers.
- Predicate terms: That which qualifies the subject or what is affirmed in a proposition. It is designated P which immediately follows the copula.
- Copula: The verb to be which links the subject and the predicate and determines the quality of the proposition. It is accompanied by the word not in the case of an O proposition. It is expressed as is, is not, are,or are not.
It should be noted here that in an expression such as intelligent are those whose parents work the subject is not intelligent because nothing is said about intelligent. In such situations, intelligent is instead the predicate term those whose parents work subject.
