To show accuracy of thought and clearness of expression, it is necessary to express and prepare propositions into logical form. To prepare propositions into optimum logical form, the following procedure should be followed ;
- Get the subject term (s) by asking the question : what is this statement all about?
- Get the predicate term (s) by asking the question : what is being said about the subject term ?
- Get the quantifier by asking the question : Is it all or some of the S that is applied to P ?
- To get the copula, change the verb, to the present tense of ‘to be’
- Express the copula, if not already expressed and make consequent changes in the predicate.
- Transfer the time-notion to the predicate.
