CHAPTER 6 : TRANSLATION INTO STANDARD FORM

DISJUNCTIVE INTO HYPOTHETICAL PROPOSITIONS

Disjunctive propositions can be translated into hypothetical and hypothetical propositions can be translated into disjunctive respectively.

  1. Convert into hypothetical: Either A is B or C is D = if A is B, then C is not D
  2. Convert into disjunctive: If it is raining, then there would be thunder = either it is raining or there would be no thunder.
  3. If the pastor is handsome, then the Christian will came = either the pastor is handsome or the Christian will not came.
  4. Either, Johnson works hard or he will not pass his examination.= if Johnson words hard, he will pass his examination
