D) STANDARD FORM

A number is said to be in standard form when it is written in the form a*10n

Where:

  1. 1 £ A £ 10
  2. N is an integer positive or negative.

Example: - 3*10-15, 2*1012

  • 0.1*108 , 1.5*101.5 (are not in standard form)

 

Example: Write the following in standard form

  2. 0.0064
  3. 0.0000094
  4. 6300
  5. 24000
