Example: Find the direction of the following vectors.

  1. M=23
  2. V=11

Solution

  1. M=23,           Þx=2 and y=3

θ=tan-1(yx),        Þθ=tan-1(32)=56.31°

  1. V=11,            ÞX=1 and y=1

θ=tan-1(yx),        Þ θ=tan-1(11)=45°
