The partition of Cameroon between the Britain and the French after the war world 1 separated Cameroons and increase their desire for reunification.

The treatment of French Cameroon as a private colony of France rather as league of nation mandated territory and the French adoption of unpopular harsh policies such as prestation, classification etc. inspired radicalism against the French rule.

      The disappointment with the moderate approach of pressure groups such as TEUCAFRAUC is opposing French colonial policies inspired the need for more radical organisation.

      The outbreak of the second world war and the contribution made by Cameroonians law relating to liberty influenced the idea of creating a radical anti-French organisation

     The creation of radical trade union the USCC in 1944 determination to improve working condition brought together many radical workers opposed to French colonialism such as NYOBE CHARLES etc inspired the formation of a radical political party the creation of the U.N.O in 1945 the U.N.O Strongly supported the principle of self determination and the formation political parties which were to led to eventual independent of the colonies.

The U.P.C was created in 1948 under the direction of LEONARD BOULI in new bell 1. The French colonial allowed U.P.C operation administration.
