BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CAMEROON NATIONAL ANTHEM

The origin of Cameroon Nation anthem, takes back to 1978 when the first pronim and some young Cameroonians students at that time, the melodie was proposed by Samuel Ninkyo and Moise Nko’o the French Cameroon achieved the seal of Cameroon a patriotic song was adopted as the national anthem of Cameroon.

      The English version of the anthem come into beign in 1961 when both the French speaking the English speaking of the national anthem was written by Pr. Bernard Follon.

  1. THE National Flag

This is one of the Cameroon National symbol. It comprises 3 vertical stripes of equal dimensions colored green, red, Yellow with the golden star placed centrally on the red stripe.

      The green color represents the rich and luxurious vegetation of the southern part of the country. It is also an expression of Hope for the future of the country.

      The Red depicts the blood and sacrifices of patriots who died fighting for a free independent Cameroon state. It is also a sign of power and sovereignty.

      The Yellow color represent the North of the country and its riches. It also stand for the Sun that brings glory, hope, energy and prosperity.

      The golden star stands for unity and authority of the nation and the idea that Cameroon is one and indivisible.
