CONSEQUENCES OF ELECTORIAL MALPRACTICE
  • It could lead to political instability, violence, loss of lifes and properties, thus into a sivere war that was the case with Ivory Coast in 2012:
  • The international image of a country is tarnished
  • These could lead to the choice of incompetence leaders
  • This could lead to absolute dictatorship since citizens vote donot longer matter.
  • It could lead to the re-run of election which only adds to the expensive incurred by the state
  • When elector know that their vote do not count. They developed voters empathy.
  • It encourages corruption and embezzlement since campaignies are very expensive
  • Some presidents frustrate opposition region and favour those that voted for them.

Measures taken by the government to solve electoral malpractices

  • Production of biometric voter card to prevent double voting.
  • Creation for more polling stations to allow some easy voting
  • Security offices visite polling stations to prevent disorder
  • The setting of clear rules and regulations on registration on campaigns and voting.
  • Financial assistance do participating political parties
