The kidney cleans blood as it passes through them producing a concentrated solution called urine. There are two kidneys attached to the back of the abdominal cavity. They are bean shape, dark red in color and surrounded by fat which help them to stay in place. The right kidney.

The outer darker region called the cortex

The inner lighter region called the  medular

            Each kidney has a renal artery which supply oxygenated blood to the kidneys nad renal vein. Which drain deoxygenated blood into pelvis leading to the ureter.

            The ureter leads to the bladder. The structure and functional unit of the kidney is called the nephron. The two kidneys contain about 300,000,000 nephron or kidney tubules between them.
