Definition

The complement of a set are the elements found in the set. It is denoted by C or I on the set. That is, AC,  AI.

Ex: a) given that ε = {1, 2, 3, …, 10} and A = {2. 4. 6, 8, 10}, find the complement of A

b) Given that U = {a, b, c, d, e} and B = {a, c}, find BC

Solution: a) AC = {1, 3, 5, 7, 9}, b) BC = {b, d, e}
